For dependable tree surgery in Conwy, call D Jones Tree Services. We travel down the valley from Llanrwst to work in the historic walled town and the surrounding neighbourhoods, from careful crown pruning to full tree removal.
Tree Surgery in Conwy Town and Surrounding Areas
Conwy is dominated by its castle and medieval town walls, and it is a busy, well-loved town of narrow streets, historic cottages and tightly packed gardens. Around the centre you will find the Quay, the Morfa, Gyffin and Marl, and further out the housing along the edges of the estuary. Each of these has its own mix of garden trees, hedges and larger boundary planting.
Space is tight in many parts of Conwy, so tree work is often done by climbing and lowering sections rather than felling. We protect walls, patios, roofs and neighbouring gardens as we work, and we use chipping and clearing to keep the site tidy. Where a tree is close to the old town walls or other sensitive features, we take extra care and follow any conditions attached to the work.

Conservation Areas and Tree Preservation Orders in Conwy
Large parts of Conwy town are in a conservation area, and individual trees may also be protected by a Tree Preservation Order. In those cases you normally need to notify or apply to the council before any work begins. We are happy to explain what is involved and can quote for the job once permission is in place.
Coastal wind and salt air on the estuary can weaken hedges and stress trees, and heavy weather can leave branches over roads and pavements. We can reduce hedges to a healthy, manageable height, clear storm damage from gardens and driveways, and leave everything looking tidy.
Before any tree work, it is worth checking whether the tree is protected. Contact Conwy County Borough Council about Tree Preservation Orders and conservation areas, and see Natural Resources Wales for guidance on felling licences.
