Tree Surgery in Llangernyw and the Elwy Countryside
Llangernyw is a small rural village in the Conwy uplands, best known for the Llangernyw Yew in St Digain's churchyard, one of the oldest living trees in Britain. The surrounding countryside is a patchwork of farms, hedges and woodland, with scattered houses and lanes running through it towards Gwytherin, Llansannan and Llanfair Talhaiarn.
Rural customers need something different from the town garden jobs we do elsewhere. On farms and smallholdings we cut back hedgerows, take out unsafe boundary trees and clear fallen timber from fields and tracks. We come to you, and because we are based in Llanrwst, Llangernyw is well within our normal working area.

Country Lanes, Hedgerows and Old Trees
Tall hedgerows along narrow lanes can get out of hand very quickly and start to block sightlines and drainage. We can cut and reduce them back to a healthy, manageable size and remove the trimmings so lanes stay clear. It is a simple way to keep access safe for tractors, delivery vehicles and visitors.
Older trees deserve careful judgement. Veteran trees have real value for wildlife and landscape, so we focus on removing only what is dead or dangerous and avoid unnecessary cutting. If you have a special tree on your land in Llangernyw, ask us to look it over and advise on the lightest sensible work.
Before any tree work, it is worth checking whether the tree is protected. Contact Conwy County Borough Council about Tree Preservation Orders and conservation areas, and see Natural Resources Wales for guidance on felling licences.
